Review what it learned
Accept or skip the profile changes the plugin proposes from your decisions.
Every apply and dismiss is logged, with the reason you gave. When a pattern shows up, the plugin turns it into a proposal: a change to your profile, or a kind of mark to turn down. Nothing changes until you accept it.
Before you start#
- You've applied and dismissed marks for a while. Proposals come from repeated decisions, not from one.
Steps#
- Look for the count in the status bar, such as 3 to review. It's hidden when nothing is waiting.
- Click it, or select Review what I’ve learned… in the Learning section of the panel, or in Settings → Learning Editor.
- The list What I've learned shows each proposal as a question, with one line of evidence and up to two of your sentences.
- Select Accept to make the change, or Skip to say no. A skipped proposal isn't asked again.
What it proposes#
| After | It asks |
|---|---|
| You dismiss the same words in the same kind 3 times (Not now doesn't count) | Keep those words. They go under Voice to keep if every reason was Voice, and under Rejected suggestions if not. |
| You dismiss one of your habit words as Voice twice | Treat it as your voice: it goes under Voice to keep. |
| You apply a fix for one of your habit words 5 times | Make it an automatic check, under Habits to coach. |
| Your last 4 decisions on one source and kind were dismissals as Wrong (Not now is passed over) | Turn that kind down for that source, for example spelling and grammar's Mechanics marks. |
It doesn't ask about what your profile already says.
What you get#
An accepted change is one line in the right section of your profile, and a notice says Added to your profile. If you have no profile yet, one is made from the starter first. A turn-down is saved in settings instead (Turned down.). To bring a turned-down kind back, select Remove beside it under Learning in Settings.
