Model Hub

Named roles mapped to provider and model, keys kept in secret storage, and a cost ledger with the billed cost of every call. Other plugins call it for their AI.

Beta. Model Hub is not released yet. These pages describe the build in progress.

Add your own skills

Keep instructions for the model in a vault folder and use them from the note chat and from other plugins.

A skill is a short set of instructions for the model. Model Hub comes with skills for answering about a note, writing help, web research, Obsidian Markdown, Bases and Canvas. Other plugins can register more. You can add your own in a folder in your vault.

Before you start

Decide on a folder for skills, such as Skills.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Model Hub → Skills.
  2. In Skills folder, enter the folder's path.
  3. Add a skill to the folder in one of two forms:
    • a subfolder holding a SKILL.md file, or
    • a note whose properties have a name and a description.
  4. Select Reload, or run Model Hub: Reload skills. Edits inside the folder are picked up without reloading.

A SKILL.md starts with properties, then the instructions:

---
name: meeting-notes
description: Turn rough meeting notes into decisions, owners and next steps.
---

- Lead with decisions, then actions with an owner each.
- Keep the note's own wording for names and dates.

What you get

Available skills lists every skill with where it comes from. A skill of yours with the same name as a built-in one replaces it. Problems with a skill are listed at the top of the tab.

  • A skill with mode: always in its properties joins every request that uses skills. Only skills in your vault may be always on.
  • A skill with extends: <another skill> has that skill's instructions placed before its own.
