Model Hub

Named roles mapped to provider and model, keys kept in secret storage, and a cost ledger with the billed cost of every call. Other plugins call it for their AI.

Beta. Model Hub is not released yet. These pages describe the build in progress.

Getting started

Install Model Hub, add a provider and ask your first question.

Install

During the beta, Model Hub is installed with the BRAT plugin.

  1. In Settings → Community plugins, install and enable BRAT.
  2. Run the command BRAT: Add a beta plugin for testing and enter Insurgent-Methods/model-hub.
  3. In Settings → Community plugins, enable Model Hub.

BRAT keeps it up to date.

Add a provider

  1. Open Settings → Model Hub. With no provider yet, it opens on the Providers tab and says Choose a provider.
  2. Select a tile. OpenRouter is the quickest start: one key reaches hundreds of models.
  3. Paste your key into API key. For Ollama or LM Studio, check the Server address instead.
  4. Select Test. The dialog should say Connected.
  5. Select Done.

More detail: Add a provider.

Fill the tiers

  1. Open the Tiers tab.
  2. Under Preset, choose Value, Claude or Local, then select Apply.

A preset fills all seven built-in tiers with models and starting limits. You can change any of them afterwards: see Set up tiers and limits.

Ask your first question

  1. Open a note.
  2. Select the Open note chat icon in the left ribbon, or run the command Model Hub: Open note chat.
  3. Type a question about the note and select Send.

The reply shows the model that answered and what the call cost. To see every call so far, run Model Hub: Open usage and costs.
