# Settings

> Every setting, in the order the settings tabs show them.

Settings open on **Providers** until you have added one, then on **Tiers**.

## Providers

| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Active** tiles | The providers you have added, each with its last check. Select one to set it up or test it. | none |
| **Add a provider** tiles | Adds the provider and opens its dialog. | |
| **API key** (OpenRouter, Anthropic, TypeSafe) | The provider's key, kept in Obsidian's keychain. | empty |
| **Server address** (Ollama, LM Studio) | Where the server listens on this computer. | LM Studio: `http://localhost:1234` |
| **Context length** (Ollama) | Tokens of context to ask for when a role doesn't set one. Ollama's own default is small. | |
| **Test** | Checks the connection and shows the result. | |
| **Remove provider** | Takes the provider out. | |

For **Other endpoint**: **Name**, **Address**, **API key** (only if the server asks), **Models** (comma separated; empty uses the server's list) and **Billing**.

## Tiers

| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Preset** | Fills every built-in tier with models and limits: Value, Claude or Local. | Value |
| A tier's row | Opens the tier: its models in order, its limits and the roles that use it. | |
| **Per call** | The most one call may cost, in dollars. Empty for no limit. | by tier, $0.005 to $2 |
| **Per month** | The most the tier may spend in a month. Empty for no limit. | by tier, $2 to $20 |

## Roles

## Skills

| Setting | What it does | Default |

| **Skills folder** | A folder of `SKILL.md` subfolders, or of notes whose properties have a name and a description. | empty (none) |
| **Reload** | Reads the folder again. | |
| **Available skills** | Every skill, where it comes from, and whether it is always on. | |

## Usage

| **Send traces** | Sends a trace of each call (role, model, tokens, cost; never your text) to an OpenTelemetry collector you run. | off |

## Commands
